Vision & Mission
HOPE+ is a narrative-led movement dedicated to designing “Mother-centered ecosystems of care” for mothers. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to create a safe and supportive space where mothers can reflect on their emotional and mental well-being – without fear, guilt, or judgment.
We strive to bring visibility to the silent struggles mothers face while balancing work and family, and to explore community-rooted solutions that support their mental health. Ultimately, our vision is to normalize conversations around maternal mental health and boost mothers’ emotional literacy – so that every mother can recognize what she’s going through, seek help when needed, and feel seen and supported in daily life. HOPE+ believes that when mothers are emotionally strong and cared for, their children grow better and communities become more resilient.
Our Approach & Values
- We place working mothers at the heart of every solution, treating them as experts in their own lives. Guided by equality and dignity, we co-design support with mothers, not for them.
Mental health support should feel warm and relatable, never clinical. We use everyday language, create emotionally safe spaces, and see every mother as a friend, peer, and co-creator—not a patient.
Real change comes from community. HOPE+ grows through low-cost, mom-to-mom models: support circles, WhatsApp groups, local meet-ups. We build on existing networks and meet mothers where they already are.
Every story is met with deep respect, confidentiality, and zero judgment. Emotional safety comes first—we listen, honor feelings, and never dismiss a mother’s need for support.
Our Origin Story
HOPE+ was born from a simple, caring question: “How are working mothers really doing?” In 2023, our founder posed this question and listened closely to mothers across India. Through a quiet but powerful survey initiative, dozens of working moms opened up about their lives. They shared that they often juggle office work and home duties without any real pause to ask themselves “Am I okay?”. Many admitted that stress and tiredness had become so normal, they barely recognized their own burnout. It became clear that society expects mothers to ‘keep going’ no matter what, leaving them with little space to voice their pain or seek support. This gap – the lack of acknowledgment for mothers’ emotional well-being – is what HOPE+ set out to address.
When we listened to mothers’ voices, the message was clear: Mothers aren’t asking for luxuries or pity. They are asking to be seen, heard, and supported – with care, not judgment. HOPE+ started as a capstone project and a listening exercise, but it quickly grew into a mission. 26 working mothers, from different regions and walks of life, voluntarily shared their heartfelt stories with us. For many of them, it was the first time anyone had asked how they felt – not just as employees or caretakers, but as human beings carrying an invisible emotional weight. Their trust and openness created a foundation of relational capital – proof that if we offer a safe space, mothers are ready to speak up and support one another. HOPE+ became a mirror where mothers could finally see their own emotions validated, and that validation alone was impactful. We learned that sometimes the quiet act of listening can spark the biggest change: it makes mothers feel seen and less alone.
